Working Groups Identified and Begun

The Dover Area Task Forced has identified 13 Working Groups to facilitate the merger process of our communities.  They are: Youth Formation (e.g. Religious Ed and Youth Ministry programs), Adult Formation, Liturgy, Pastoral Care, Communications, Personnel, Outreach/Social Activities, Finance, Fund-raising/Stewardship, Technology, Building Use and Maintenance, Schools, and Cemeteries.  Below is a report of the work in progress so far.

The Liturgy Working Group has been working hard since early May to prepare for our new Mass schedule. The Music Ministry Team has coordinated schedules and moved music equipment all in a wonderful spirit of collaboration to present a consolidated music ministry.

The Altar Server and Masters of Ceremony Team
offered the first training to ensure consistency of procedures and responsibilities.  The next training for Altar Servers is scheduled on Saturday, June 6 8:00-9:00 am.

The Youth Formation Working Group will officially launch in January.  We would like to invite all parishioners interested in contributing their ideas and input regarding the religious education of our youth, to join this group at that time (date to be announced).  In preparation for the upcoming Religious Education season, the current Directors of Religious Education from all four parishes had an initial meeting in late May to coordinate schedules, materials and resources.  The Directors recommended to continue offering the same programs offered in this past year with a few slight modifications.  The registration process, including all programs offered, will begin before the end of the school year.  More details to follow.

The Pastoral Care Working Group will soon launch their first meeting.  More details to follow.

We would like to thank all who have been involved in this merger process for your generous time and energy.  It has been inspiring to witness the flexibility, creativity and cooperation as you join your talents and gifts for the benefit or our parish.  We would also like to invite those interested to join future Working Groups; your input and prayers is what shapes our newly formed Parish of the Assumption.
