Dover Advisory Task Force 22 OCTOBER 2008 Meeting Summary

The Dover Advisory Task Force (DATF), held its third meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2008.  

The DATF spent considerable time reviewing the proposals from the previous task force meeting, in particular, the idea of a combined daily mass, combined bulletin and combined website.  The discussion ended with, at least a portion of the task force’s membership, believing that we couldn’t proceed immediately as there needed to be more time for study and evaluation regarding all three proposals.

A discussion also ensued regarding how we should or would need to proceed with implementation:  were we to work toward an overall best solution, or to work a most popularly accepted solution.  One would focus on the greater amount of positive; the other would focus on the least amount of community objection. 

The meeting concluded with the suggestion that a common prayer be used in all the parishes that would help the communities share in a common intercession for God’s guidance.  This prayer, once composed and adopted, would be prayed at every celebration of the Eucharist within all four communities.
